The Story Behind Éire

Before we dive into the colours, let’s talk about the name Éire. You might know it as the modern Irish word for Ireland, but did you know it evolved from the old Irish word Ériu? Back in the day (we’re talking ancient mythology levels of "back in the day"), Ériu was the name of both Ireland and a powerful Gaelic goddess. She was believed to be the matron goddess of the land—a symbol of sovereignty, strength, and natural beauty. We like to think she’d be pretty chuffed to see dogs all over the world rocking a collection inspired by her legacy.

The Symbolism Behind the Irish Flag

Ireland’s flag isn’t just three pretty colors—it’s packed with history, meaning, and a whole lot of heart. We took those iconic shades and spun them into a collection that celebrates everything we love about the Emerald Isle:

• Green: Not only a nod to Ireland’s lush rolling hills and rich Gaelic roots, green represents the Catholic Christian tradition.
• White: The peaceful bridge between the Catholics and Protestants, symbolising unity, harmony and hope for the future, making it the perfect balance in our design.
• Orange: Representing the Protestant Christian tradition, orange is all about courage, strength, and the fiery spirit of Ireland’s people. It’s bold, it’s bright, and it brings a pop of passion to our collection.
